Our team consists of Curriculum Developers, Program Instructors, and Directors throughout the year, and then Camp Instructors and Managers join during the summer months.

Below is who we have on the team so far...

Sarah as President and Founder

Sarah completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph with a focus in Mathematics, Physics, and Studio Arts and later completed a Bachelor of Education at Queen's University qualified to teach Intermediate Math and Visual Arts.

With 4 years of experience running a STEM outreach organization, she is excited to continue to do what she loves with the freedom of starting this new organization.

Grew up in Aurora, ON and has lived in Guelph, ON since 2010. Sarah's favourite part about teaching/ training is building confidence and excitement in others and being a part of that moment when someone realizes their potential.

Pacey as Camp Instructor (Guelph)

Pacey has a great energy with kids and loves science! “My mind is full of science facts for you to explore."

Kendell as Camp Manager and Instructor (Guelph)

Kendell grew up in Orillia, ON, before moving to Guelph to attend university. Kendell has just graduated from the University of Guelph with a major in Mathematical Science and a minor in Business Economics. She will be going to St. Thomas University in Fredericton, NB in the fall to earn her Bachelor of Education.

Kendell's experiences as a Tutor, Teaching Assistant, and STEM Instructor, have assured her that she wants to pursue her passion for teaching as a career. She loves teaching because she likes to inspire children and feels that it is rewarding to watch them pursue their interests and achieve their personal goals.

Louisa as Camp Manager and Instructor (Guelph)

Louisa completed her Bachelor of Science with a focus in Kinesiology and French at the University of Waterloo. She then completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Western Ontario and is now a qualified primary and junior French Immersion teacher.

Louisa moved to Guelph in 2017 and has been working as a teacher ever since! Her favourite subject to teach is science because she loves being able to make things and test them out. She also loves helping others discover how the world works.

Alison as Camp Manager and Instructor (Oakville)

Alison grew up in Oakville and has worked at SMiLeS Camp out of St.Mildred's for five years. She loves camp and working with different campers each week, getting to know each of them and their interests.

Alison has a Bachelor of Arts at McMaster University and she is currently completing her Masters of Teaching at The University of Toronto. She loves teaching and working with children of all ages. Alison has a lot of experience babysitting, volunteering, working at youth centres and daycares. She is so excited to meet our campers this year!

Carling as Camp Instructor (Oakville)

Carling is from Oakville, ON and is currently studying Bio-Medical Science at the University of Guelph. She is excited to be joining the team at Life Gears Academy and is very much looking forward to working with inquisitive youth through STEM activities. Carling enjoys playing music, soccer and travelling.

Caroline as Camp Manager and Instructor (Oakville)

Caroline is working towards a double degree in History and Art History at McMaster University, hoping to achieve a career in art restoration and teaching. Born and raised in Toronto, Caroline spends her time reading, running, exploring vintage stores and drinking coffee, while listening to country music. She hopes to explore the world to meet new people, learn new things and most importantly, cuddle cute animals.
